the morning edit

“Every woman starts her day differently calm or chaos, it’s her routine, her way.”

A bi-weekly series where I sit down with inspiring women from around the world to talk about their real routines calm or chaotic. We chat about the products they love, the rituals they rely on, and how they start their day.

I’ve always been fascinated by women and what we truly need. That curiosity is what built Byellie, and why it means so much to me that byellie is part of your morning not just as beauty, but as a ritual.

I treasure slow mornings.. even if it's just one a week

My name is Grace i started my career at just 16 jumping in the deep end of being an entrepreneur in the pre loved luxury industry.

Are your mornings more calm or chaos  and why?

My mornings are chaos. Im always trying to find the time to workout and exercise before my working day starts, as well as trying to maintain a beauty routine to show up to work feeling and looking my best.

What does ‘routine’ mean to you at this stage of your life?

Consistency using products and doing things that make me feel good and relaxed in order for my day to run more smoothly.

Talk us through the first moments of your morning what are the first 3 things you do?

•The first thing I do is make a coffee because I cannot function without it.
• I try not to go on my phone too soon, but this is really hard. On a good morning I like to read a book in bed if I have any spare time, even just 20 minutes.
• My hair curlers are taken out, and my morning skincare routine commences.

What helps you feel most like you in the morning?

I live in Dubai so I love to start my mornings at the stables or reading a book on my balcony with a coffee. I treasure slow mornings the older I get and try to prioritise this time at least once or twice a week.

Where do brows fit into your everyday routine?

I have done and will always use by Ellies brow texture as a key step in my morning routine. Its the only thing I put on my face before I work out, and on my no makeup days, brow texture is still applied. I don’t know what Id do without it.

What are your five must-have products you start your day with (any brands)? One byellie product

• Heatless hair curling rods have changed my life, I sleep in them every night and wake up with a fresh blow-dry every day.
• I love la Roche-posay balm as my everyday moisturiser, I use it morning and night. Its supposed to be a heavier night cream, but I love it for an all day glowy look and a mask every evening.
• Ive been loving the medicube collagen masks as a weekly night routine. I wake up with the glowiest skin.
• The No7 cream bronzer has become a staple in my makeup routine. It’s a more affordable dupe of the Chanel version, and gives a perfect sun kissed glow.
• My by Ellie lip balm goes everywhere with me. It has the prettiest pink tone and the perfect flavour. I actually own several, and keep them all in my different bags.

A beauty tip you are currently loving?

The importance of eye creams, Im noticing such a difference in how my makeup is applying when I use a good eye cream in my base routine.

Are your mornings calm or chaos?

Calm!! My morning routine is everything to me and really keeps me grounded for the rest of the day. I use that time to reset before the day ahead and do the things that make me feel good and set me up for a positive and productive day.

What does 'routine' mean to you at this stage of your life?

Routine for me means prioritising the things that make me feel good. I’m very much a routine person and I always feel my best on the days when I have time to myself and I’m not constantly rushing around!

Talk us through the first moments of your morning what the first 3 things you do?

I usually wake up without an alarm and the first thing I do is make a herbal tea and spend time with my cat! I then spend a few minutes with my mindfulness journal, which asks 3 things I’m grateful for and some positive prompts. I then usually do a quick 10 minute yoga flow followed by a short meditation. The whole routine takes around 20–30 minutes, but it leaves me feeling calm and centred for the rest of the day.

What helps you feel most like you in the morning?

Getting ready! I think working from home has made a lot of us stop making an effort with how we look and I really believe that affects how we feel. Even a small amount of effort, like a bit of makeup or doing my hair makes such a difference to my confidence and mindset throughout the day.

Where do brows fit into your everyday routine?

Brows are really important to me and I feel like they completely change your face once they’re done. Brows are always the first step in my makeup routine and even on no-makeup days I’ll always make sure that they are brushed into place

What are your five must have products you start your day with?

Vitamin C serum - I’m currently using Medik8

Hydrating moisturiser - I love Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter is my go-to

Rare Beauty liquid blush

By Ellie Lip Balm - strawberry is my favourite

A beauty tip you are currently loving?

My beauty tip that I am currently loving is less is more! I’ve realised that a natural look suits me better and I’m embracing that on a day-to-day basis.

"it grounds me physically and spiritually"

The morning edit January 2026

Are your mornings calm or chaos?

I wake up very early so my day never starts in a rush. The way you begin the morning sets the tone for everything that follows. I start with prayer and then head straight to the gym that’s my daily ritual and my anchor.

What does 'routine' mean to you at this stage of your life?

Routine means balance, peace of mind, and structure. It’s essential for someone organized like me. I love a more free-flowing lifestyle when I’m on holiday, but I don’t think that kind of rhythm would be sustainable for my happiness long term or maybe yes? 😄

Talk us through the first moments of your morning what the first 3 things you do?

Starting my day with prayer and movement. It grounds me physically and spiritually.

What helps you feel most like you in the morning?

A cold shower, gym clothes on, a spray of my favorite perfume, my morning cream — and yallah, off to the gym.

Where do brows fit into your everyday routine?

I keep my brows very natural. I like them fresh and effortless.

What are your five must have products you start your day with?

Lait VIP 02 - Biologique Recherche

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream.

byellie Paloma lip gloss.

A beauty tip you are currently loving?

I recently discovered the IS Clinical Active Peel system. If you want your skin to look incredible for a specific day, use one the night before and watch your skin glow like a star.
